The Captain David Crawford House is open to the public Sundays from 1pm-4pm April through October and by appointment.

Admission: $5 non-members; free to members

The Crawford House is located in Newburgh’s historic east end at 189 Montgomery St., Newburgh, New York

Directions:

From the NY State Thruway, take exit 17 (Newburgh) and bear left at the off ramp, heading toward 17K. At the bottom of the ramp, make a left at the light onto 17K (which will turn into Broadway). Continue on Broadway toward the River. At the crest of the hill, with a view of the River ahead of you and just two blocks from the end of Broadway, make a left onto Grand Street. Follow Grand Street approximately 7 blocks and make a right onto Clinton Street. Crawford House will be the third house down. It is yellow with green shutters and sits on the corner of Clinton and Montgomery Streets. Make a right into our driveway. Park and enter at the rear of the House. The address is 189 Montgomery Street.

From points West, Take Route 84 east to exit 10. At the light, make an immediate right and get into the left lane in front of the Sunoco Station. Make a left on to North Plank Road. Follow the street down the hill, through two traffic lights, and make a right on to Montgomery Street. The Crawford House is 189 Montgomery Street.

From points East, take Route 84 West to Exit 10s (second exit past the Newburgh-Beacon Bridge). Stay to your right off the ramp and follow it until you come to the traffic light at Route 9W (the Lexus Diner is on the left). Make a right on to 9W, and get into the left lane in front of the Sunoco Station. Make a left on to North Plank Road. Follow the street down the hill, through two traffic lights, and make a right on to Montgomery Street. The Crawford House is 189 Montgomery Street.
