“Annual Drive 2013” Our Annual Drive to Raise Funds for Continued Restoration, Monthly Programming, and Servicing to the Newburgh Community and Surrounding Area In March, the Board of Directors, supporters, and volunteers helped make our Annual Drive of 2013 possible. After several hours of writing personalized messages to every contact on our previous mailing lists, our day was finished by stuffing thousands of envelopes to local residents of Newburgh and the surrounding areas. “History Needs a Home” A Capital Campaign to Save the Captain David Crawford House In November 2007, the Historical Society of Newburgh Bay and the Highlands was awarded $135,000 grant from the New York State Environmental Protection Fund. Funds from the grant will pay for much needed capital improvements of the Crawford House, but the grant stipulates that we must match those funds. We have hired a preservation architect who has identified the areas of greatest need. The roof, chimneys and gutters must be repaired and replaced to stave off serious water damage.
