The  Newburgh Brewing Company, a spectacular example of adaptive re-use in the City of Newburgh, was the site of the Sixth Biennial Feast of the Arts Art Auction on May 6th. More than fifty local artists sold their work, either through the Silent or Live Auction, conducted by Celebrity Auctioneer Susan Hawvermale, Director of Tourism for Orange County. Live music for the Auction Preview was provided by The Nollies, under the direction of Tom Quinlisk.

Naturally, great ale and beer were served, courtesy of The Newburgh brewing Company, and Brotherhood Winery was pouring liberally, as well.  The “feast ”was amazing! Flo Aruza’s elegant buffet tables almost collapsed under the dazzling array of hors d’oeuvres and desserts contributed by local restaurants and Flo’s army of volunteers, who also provided gracious service. Lily Norton whipped up some exquisite flower arrangements to compliment the works of art with flowers from her garden. Everyone was astonished by the Hudson River and City views from the beautiful Taproom.

Over $11,000.00 was raised to support the work of the Historical Society and the artists and a very good time was had by all! Thank you ”Feast of the Arts” Committee, chaired by Anne Coon and William Noonan, all the wonderful volunteers, and the Newburgh Brewing Company! All participating artists will eligible to display their work in the “Artists’ Choice” exhibition next April at the Stone Floor Gallery at the Crawford House.
